XTC Tec Diving, a division of XTC Dive Center, is a state-of-the-art technical diving and training operation in Xcalak, Mexico, designed with the modern Tek diver in mind.
We offer the full range of IANTD, TDI and PADI mixed gas decompression diving courses on Open Circuit SCUBA and CCR, both on Backmount and Sidemount, as well as guided Tek diving in all configurations with profiles up to 450+ ft/125m.
At XTC Tek diving you can take highly regarded GoSidemount training on the Razor harness, delivered by Official Razor Instructors, from a Basic Open Water Sidemount Course to start your Tek Diving training on SM, to Tek SM crossovers for experienced Backmount Technical divers to Trimix training on Sidemount and beyond.
XTC Dive Center is a top-rated Instructor Development Center located in the small fishing village of Xcalak, Mexico (Caribbean coast), right on the border with Belize. XTC has a longstanding reputation for training, safety and service in a remote, unspoiled setting—all with relatively easy access from Europe, Canada and the U.S.A.
As highly experienced and passionate Tek divers ourselves, it was only natural that we develop XTC as a top-notch, dedicated Tek diving operation. We designed and built our state-of-the-art, technical diving and training facility from the ground up with everything the modern tech diver needs in one place, including a custom fill and gas-blending station. XTC Tech Diving is the only facility of its kind in our region, attracting top technical divers and instructors from all over the world.
At XTC we are committed to environmental conservation and sustainable tourism, both under the water and above it. Our facilities in Xcalak are 100-percent self-contained, with elaborate systems in place for conserving fresh water and treating wastewater. Beyond recycling as much as possible, we strive to keep waste out of the system in the first place—for example, XTC Dive Center does not buy any single-serve plastics. And because truly sustainable seafood is difficult to verify locally, XTC’s onsite restaurant, The Coral Bar & Grill does not serve any seafood other than the invasive lionfish. We are also committed to sustainable communities. By paying fair wages and employing our staff year-round (in a traditionally seasonal business), we provide stable jobs and support our local economy.
Along with dedicated tek boats, experienced captains and expert guides, we have access to miles of continental shelf, and can conduct deco stops along the stunning Xcalak Reef—a protected National Marine Park that is only accessible by permit.
Remote and beautiful Xcalak is the perfect place for any tek diving or training program—open or closed circuit, backmount or Sidemount.
